What cable do I need to communicate with RS-232 devices in Met/Cal

There are almost as many types of RS-232 cables as there are test units controlled using RS-232.  Collecting all of the right cables can be a daunting task.

Knowing this, Fluke Calibration offers a Met/Cal Serial Kit which is designed for closed-loop procedure serial connectivity.  The contents of the kit (with pictures) and what instruments they can connect to are detailed here:

What is included in the MET/CAL Serial Kit?

in addition to these accessories we also offer a more generic RS-232 to USB adapter, with a null-modem cable configuration.  This cable is designed to be used whenever an RS-232 null-modem cable is used, however you don't need a spare RS-232 port in your computer to use it as it is designed to be plugged in to a USB port on your computer and the RS-232 port on your instrument.

The item number for the cable in the picture is 2675479 (884X-USB, USB-RS-232 Cable Adapter).
