Find Screens Stop Working in Chrome Version 65

We have received reports of customers experiencing inoperative Find screens in the latest versions of Chrome (64 and 65) and other browsers. Fluke is aware of this issue and is working on a fix. In the meantime, we will use this article to share information we find that may help. Please follow this article to receive updates.

This issue was resolved by the MET/TEAM Version 2.2 Hot Fix. You can find information on that Hot Fix here: https://support.flukecal.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000554303

For Users Running Earlier Versions:

Previous Chrome installers will be located on your PC in the following file location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application

Copy one of the older version installers (open the version numbered folder and find the Installers folder) to C:\Temp. Then uninstall your current version of Chrome and reinstall from the old installer. Disable automatic updates to prevent the move to Version 65 temporarily until a resolution is found.

Additionally, if your default search criteria was barcode, you can still start typing a barcode and hit enter and it will open the asset you want. The structure of the search is operational. It's just the visualization that is broken.

Some users have had success in reducing the frequency of the issue by running developer tools in their browser (by pressing F12). Switching to another browser may also help for some users.

We are currently evaluating plans for fixes to version 2.0.6 and 2.1.2 but do not have a timeline for these.

We just experienced this anomaly today.as well. I do not recommend checking your version as when you go to Help>About it will update to the latest version on its own (at least here in our lab).

Also, how do you go back to a prior version in Chrome?

We are running Windows 64 Bit machines, but, I just noticed that our IT Group is forcing the 32-Bit version of Chrome.

    Hi George,

I've updated the article with some instructions for finding archived installers on your local system which will allow you to revert your version.

Unfortunately, simply going back to a prior version on Gov't PC's is NOT and option. Thus Chrome is unusable for now until Fluke issues a patch...

With respect to the other browsers we have available, Microsoft IE (Internet Explorer) Version 11.0.9600.18920 is also fickle with this problem as we have to sometimes open and close the search box several times before it works there. Microsoft Edge Version 38.14393.2068.0 seems to be working on Windows 10 for now (where we have computers with that operating system)....

Is there a way to clear the other fields in the Find screen when it's not visible? We do use the Barcode as the default, but I like using the "Remember" function. Because of this, if there is another field entered (like Model Number) the search will not be functional with just the barcode till I can clear the other field(s) in the search field.

    Gary,

The Reset button will clear out the contents of any search fields that retained data from previous searches and the Reset All button does this as well as restoring to the default fields (those available without using the Remember button to reorganize them).

Is there a fix for this issue yet? It seems like with all the money our company pays for support, that this issue would be fixed after 3 - 4 weeks.

On our Windows 7 workstation that has this issue, (both with IE, and Chrome, which makes the computer useless in the lab), I have noticed the following...
While the find view for Assets and workorder etc doesn't draw the grid, the find view works when loaded for adding assets to shipments.

Also, loading the "Developer Tools" (Ctrl+Shift+I) in chrome, and leaving it open seems to resolve the issue, and make the page appear correctly in Chrome.

I have put in a request for my IT group to apply the hot fix. Until it is done, here is how I get the find screen to render correctly every time, even though it is a minor hassle:

Maintenance --> Assets (or go to any Find screen). Click Reset, then click Find. Double click any asset in the lower pane to open the record. In the asset record, DOUBLE-click the Find button. The first Find screen will not render correctly, but the second Find screen will render correctly every time. Search out the record you are looking for. That record will appear behind the Find screen that rendered incorrectly. Close the first Find screen and your record is accessible.

This works for any Find screen that I have used since the glitch started.
