Prioritization of Fluke MET/CAL Gold Procedure Development

I have met and spoken with many of you, but for those of you who I have not yet had the opportunity to meet, I would like to introduce myself.  My name is Chad Dodds, and I am the Procedure Development Manager at Fluke.  You may or may not already know that I personally rely on your input to guide decisions regarding prioritization of MET/CAL Gold procedures developed by the Fluke team.  I collect your feedback through many different channels including Fluke sales channels, calls and emails to the Fluke Software Support team (available via softwaresupport@flukecal.com or at 800-825-7411), MET/CAL User Group meetings, Fluke Training classes, LinkedIn messages and groups, industry-related message forums, and especially here at the Fluke Calibration Community Forum.

First of all, I want to THANK YOU for your feedback!  I have already put together a solid Gold procedure development plan for 2013.  So far, the plan includes a balance of new procedures for Fluke, Tektronix, and Keithley products, as well as products manufactured outside of the Danaher T&M platform to include Agilent and Yokogawa.  Our team is also very focused on improving procedure quality for both new and existing procedures.

I would like to invite everyone to continue sharing any requests that you have.  The best way to share these is by contacting your Fluke sales representative or Fluke Software Support.  Requests can be made for new procedures, feature enhancements to new or existing procedures, bug reports, or really anything you would like to see offered in the Gold support plan.  It is important to include as much detail as you can in your requests, such as standards you plan to use with newly requested procedures, or instrument lines, revision numbers, and problem descriptions for bug reports.  Our procedure development plan is dynamic; if we see more activity or discussion surrounding a particular request, the Fluke team will review and consider bumping it up to a higher priority, or add it to the list if it is not already present.

Gold procedure development prioritization is a series of business decisions made in a competitive market.  For this reason, we cannot openly share or discuss our strategies publicly.  Many of you have requested a Community Forum mechanism to vote for which Gold procedures you would like to have developed next.  Please know that the best way to make a request, or cast your vote for a particular procedure, is by contacting Fluke Software Support.  I promise you that we are listening!

Happy Holidays!
