Does anyone have a LeCroy WR6030A with 5520 calibration Procedure?

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this group and was told to join by our Fluke rep. I am in need of a LeCroy WR6030A with a 5520 1 year calibration. I have been trying to modify an existing LeCroy WR6030 with 5820 that fluke has but with my lack of MET/CAL editor knowledge and it appears that the MET/CAL Editor version that I have 8.1.3 has issues that will not let me publish a working PXE file. If someone has a version of LeCroy WR6030A with a 5520 1 year calibration  that  is working, I would be very grateful if I could grab a copy.

I am willing to help you figure out your problem with creating a pxe and converting your existing procedure to use the 5520A if you want. To start with, I need more info about the errors you are getting.

I have never used a 5820, but it should be very similar to using the scope function of a 5520. Have you tried to use the replace function to replace all of the 5820 commands with 5520? This is where I would start and then see what errors pop up and fix them one by one. It shouldn't be too hard. Obviously, if you have questions about an FSC, just type it and hit F1 for the help file. Looking at the differences between the 5820/M5820 and the 5520/M5520 should help you resolve the errors after you replace the FSC.

As for the problem creating pxe files, it works fine for me so I will need to see errors of what is happening on your machine.

I would be more than happy to help you get this procedure running.

Can you tell me what is the full name of the procedure that you are using? It should be one of the following

  1. LeCroy WR6030: (1 yr) CAL VER IEEE /5800+5ch,DMM, Revision: 1.1
  2. LeCroy WR6030: (1 yr) CAL VER IEEE /5800,DMM, Revision: 1.1
  3. LeCroy WR6030: (1 yr) CAL VER IEEE /5820, Revision: 1.1

  5. LeCroy WR6030: (1 yr) CAL VER IEEE /9500+1Hd,DMM, Revision: 1.1

Hello Mr Greenberger,

Thank you very much for willingness to help. I am new to this and have a lot to learn.

A quick history of what I have going on. I have a Fluke 5522 and MET/CAL 8.0.51 software. There is a bug in the software where I have to compile and publish the executables, with the system configured as a 5520 then reconfigure the system as a 5522 to run the file. The software bug does not allow the  Debugger within MET/CAL to function at all with the 5522, so I have to do the above procedures run the executable and where there is a bad command in the executable I have to use the list function to see where and what the error is. I am going to try to attach some files so that you will have a better idea of my error that I am receiving.

1) The file that has been used to create the program that I am using is the LeCroy WR6030: (1 yr) CAL VER   IEEE /5800,DMM, Revision: 1.1

2) I have updated the WR6030A Firmware as instructed by LeCroy to 6.5.0 or higher.

3) The error that I am receiving now is on line 1.044 of the Sub WR6000 (1 yr) Trig Level VER IEEE_5800.mc file. The error is as follows:

  1.044 IEEE [ V MeasFunc]:CRVA? [I$].  Please see attached file.

I have noticed that in the working WR44Xi program that have that the IEEE command to retrieve the cursor values may be written as

  F[ V Ch]:CRVA? HABS [I$].

I dont know if the difference is due to style of procedure writing or an error. Again please keep in mind that I am new to this and I am just trying to compare a known working procedure with an non working procedure.

4) The Scope logs the following errors as:

Error AS Interpreter error: command <F1:CRST > at token <CRST>: command cannot be executed in current environment command <F1:CRST > at token <CRST>: command cannot be executed in current environment

Error AS Interpreter error: command <F1:CRVA?> at token <CRVA>: command cannot be executed in current environment command <F1:CRVA?> at token <CRVA>: command cannot be executed in current environment  

I would very much appreciate any help that you can provide me on retrieving the IEEE faults that I am receiving thank you very much, Jim

Hi Jim,

Can you try and do the following. In the 'Sub WR6000 (1 yr) Trig Level VER IEEE /5800' procedure, can you add in a DISP FSC as shown in bold below.

1.034  MATH         L[1] = @Chan
  1.035  HEAD         CH[L1] TRIGGER LEVEL: +Slope, DC, 0 mV threshold
  1.036  TSET         TDESC = 0 mV, +Slope
  1.037  TARGET       -p
  1.038  DISP         Pause  
# Set Cursor Set for Horizontal Absolute, 5 divisions (mid-screen).
  1.039  IEEE2        [V MeasFunc]:CRST HABS,5DIV 

 

Then build the procedure as you were to get around the bug and run it. When it reaches that line, it should pause the script. When this occurs, on the WR6030, go to File -> Print Setup and select "File" from the choices in the lower left corner of the dialog. Change the file format to PNG and set the file name and specify a directory.. Close this dialog box, and then go to File -> Print. You should now have the captured image saved in the directory you specified. Can you please post this image?

Can you try the following. Replace the following lines of code

with

IEEE2        F1:TRA [V @Ch1]
  1.009 
IEEE2        F2:TRA [V @Ch2]

IEEE2        F3:TRA [V @Ch3]

IEEE2        F4:TRA [V @Ch4]

Remove the DISP line that I asked you to add, build the solution, and see if it runs without error this time. Let me know if this works.

Hello Leor,

You are awesome! You have solved problem 1 for me. Now I am going to ask if you can help with another issue that has come up. All of the Individual tests are working correctly except for the Leakage Test.

When I run the calibration procedure and it gets to the Leakage Test portion of the procedure it appears that it is setting up everything correctly but when it measures the Leakage value on the DMM  it is listing the value as 0 in the software. I can watch the DMM and it does appear to be making the measurement but not recording it correctly. I will attach a copy of the test report so that you can see what I am talking about. Please see the attachments for the details.

Jim,

I ran the procedure using the Agilent 34401A and it ran succesfully. Something that you might want to try is the following.

1. Select Instruments from the Configure drop down menu.

 

 

 

2. If the HP 34401A is not listed, click the Add button and add it. Otherwise, select the 34401A instrument and select edit.

 

 

3.

a) Enter an Asset Number (this is simply a made-up identifying string of characters and numbers to enable tracking of the instrument)

b) Set the correct address.

c) In the alias section, click the Add button and type DMM.

 

If you already had this instrument set up, but did not add an alias as described in 3c, then you would have an issue using the DMM in the procedure.

Leor,

You are correct. When I ran it again I did notice that it was recording the measurement correctly, I now need to learn how to format the reports and put in the correct report parameters in the report. I can not thank you enough for all of your help. I am away from my desk most of the day but I would appreciate if you would call me and leave me a number to get a hold of you.
