How do I Configure option SC600

Hello! I can not use scope out in the calibrator Fluke 5522A. Here is the code of procedure that I use:

M5520  ODD
5520         1Vp                          262LM          F1 S6 S  L
M5520        *

Here is the error that occurs:
E4068: FSC 5520: LINE 16: MOD3 cannot be "S6", "ZM", or "OM" unless option 5500A-SC600 or option 5520A-SC1100 is configured.

How do I Configure option SC600?

Perhaps you have not told Met/Cal that you have a unit with a scope option.

In Met/cal editor/configure/instruments/Fluke 5522A, are there some option buttons to select which options you have?

In Met/cal editor/configure/instruments/Fluke 5522A selected SC600

This option is physically there calibrator

For the 5522A you have to use the O_CAL FSC for the scope calibrator.

Also as James said above, you MUST click the check box next to the option you have under Configure -> Instruments.

The O_CAL FSC is not required for 5522A control.   The 5520/M5520, 5522A, and O_CAL FSCs are "Device Mapped" with respect to the 5520A and 5522A.

1. A procedure written using the 5520/M5520 FSCs will execute without modification with a "Fluke 5522A" configured and connectede.

2. Conversely, a procedure written with the 5522A FSC will execute without modification with a "Fluke 5520A" configured and connected.

3. The O_CAL FSC will execute with a "Fluke 5080A", "Fluke 5500A", "Fluke 5502A", "Fluke 5520A", "Fluke 5522A', "Fluke 5800A", or "Fluke "5820A", configured and connected, with the proper options and/orn functional capability.

You must configure what is connected.  In your case configure a "Fluke 5522A" with the 600 MHz option checked.

What version of MET/CAL are you running?   If this does not solver the problem, you may need to upgrade your MET/CAL, due to a "Device Mapping" bug in the version of MET/CAL you are running.

I'm using version 8.3
Commando O_CAL helped.

Yes, O_CAL will work, but so should your original 5520 FSC statement with "S6".  The intention was that procedures would not have to be updated to use the 5522A.

In my last post I have attached screen shots, which shows that the option "SC600" enabled. However, the code that I described in the first message is not working. Can I like that it's correct?

Yes, your "Fluke 5522A" appears to be configured correctly.   What is not working?  What error message(s) are displayed?

We are having the same issue. We have a 5522A with 600MHz scope option and running MET/CAL 8.1.7.

Writing/editing and compiling procedures with 5520 FSC does not work as it seems the editor does not recognize the configured scope option.

E4068: FSC 5520: LINE 50: MOD3 cannot be "S6", "ZM", or "OM" unless option 5500A-SC600 or option 5520A-SC1100 is configured.

As the error message states MOD3 "S6" only works with 5500A-SC600 or 5520A-SC1100. Is it a way to limit the length of the error message or should it not work with 5520A-SC600?

Using pre-compiled procedures with the 5520 FSC in Run Time works just fine.

In the MET/CAL 8.x Project paradigm the following must exist:

1.   An Instrument Configuration file MUST be attached to the project which contains a "Fluke 5520A" with either the 600 MHz or 1100 MHz option checked.  Example:   4, @5520 : Fluke 5520A (S6)

2.   The Instrument Configuration file attached to the project CANNOT be the same physical file as the workstation Instrument Configuration file.   Example:  DO NOT attach c:\ProgramData\Fluke\METCAL\config.dat to the project.  Copy or create an Instrument Configuration file to the project folder, and attach to the project.

3.   Configure only a "Fluke 5522A" in the Workstation Instrument configuration (TOOLS=>Configure Instruments or F12).

If those things are manual changes that MUST be done for each project that contains a 5520A with scope option why does not the Editor generate it by default when the proper instrument configuration is done in F12 and such code is compiled?

Is this the case with ONLY the 5520A with Scope Option or are there other instruments that has this requirement as well?

Thank you for reporting this limitation in MET/CAL 8.3’s device mapping function for Fluke 552x oscilloscope calibrator options.  While we work on fixing this limitation in an upcoming release, the config.dat solution suggested previously may satisfy immediate requirements.  This involves creating an Instrument Configuration File (e.g. config_5520a+sc600.dat) representing the 5520A-SC600 instrument configuration required by the 5520 FSC statement, and adding it to the source MET/CAL project as an Existing Item.  While this functionality was meant to address the needs of the Editor’s Automated Build and Build Solution functions, it should also work here.  More information can be found in the help topic titled “Using Instrument Configuration Files in Projects”, which is found in the Procedure Editor section of the User’s Guide.

A second alternative, also suggested above, is to use the O_CAL FSC to control many different calibrators’ oscilloscope options.  A procedure translator is available from Fluke Software Support to convert 5520 FSC statements to the O_CAL FSC.  Although some setup and post-translation effort may be required, this may prove to be a better long-term solution vs. adding a config.dat file to your project(s).
