MetCal 8 and RS-232

We recently updated to MetTrack/MetCal 8.1, using 64 bit Windows 7 computers.

After this move from v7.1, none of our Fluke provided procedures that use RS-232 and external communication routines work.  This would be procedures for instruments like 787, 741, 701, etc.  These use external programs using the DOS FSC.  (met787.exe, metlink3.exe, etc.)

Since the move to MetCal8, none of these procedures work as it appears they are unable to execute the program specified by DOS.

Has anyone else run into this?

The file locations changed starting with 7.3. Those external programs should be located at ProgramData\Fluke\METBASE\Shared\UserPrograms.

You may need to copy them from the old location or reinstall the procedure that uses them.

We've been down that path and confirmed that the files are in the correct location.

Yes.  The file locations have changed and some of the user programs were updated to run on a 64-bit OS.  We are all running Win 7 and Met/Cal 8 and have had no problems with RS232 and updated user programs.

Please send screen shots of the error messages to softwaresupport@flukecal.com
