Setting manual range for HP 34401A

I am having a problem with an oscilloscope procedure. I am using the 34401A to measure the input resistance but I am finding that when measuring the 1 Mohm termination it is out of tolerance due to measuring in the 1Mohm range. The resistance is not actually OOT . When I change the 34401 range to 10M or 100M ohm  it reads properly. Is there a way to force the 34401 to measure while in the 10Mohm range.

The line of code I am presently using is :

3.003  34401  10   1.00MZ         0.01U                                 4W

This code always measures in autorange.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I could be wrong here as I have never used a 34401 but couldn't you put say 10M in the nominal field to make the 34401 think its going to make a higher resistance reading forcing it into the higher range?..

 34401  100   10MZ           1%                                    2W

I'm not 100% sure this will work but could be worth a shot.

Hi, You could just address the 34401 explicitly, instead of using 34401 FSC because using FSC You're unable to manipulate MEM and MEM1. Depending on which IEEE board your 34401 is just add 100 to the device's address:

Example:

#supposing DMM is connected to IEEE board 0 and has IEEE address set to 30:

IEEE  [@130] SENS:FUNC "FRES"

IEEE [@130] *OPC

IEEE [@130] MEAS:FRES? 1e+07, MIN

IEEE [I]

MATH MEM=MEM/(1e+06)

MATH MEM1=1

MEME

MEMC MZ 0.01U
